Robin DeMartini, owner and founder of Lavender Pilates, has been in the Fitness industry since 1989 and teaching Pilates since 2002. She holds certifications with Balanced Body's sponsored PHI® Pilates University and recently completed another intensive 450+ hour teacher training instruction/certification course. She is strongly versed in Mat, Reformer, Trap/Cadillac Table, Wunda Chair, Barrell and Spine Corrector. She is a member of the nonprofit Pilates Method Alliance, IDEA, and is CPR Certified. Robin's passion keeps her attending regular classes at local studios on the Peninsula and in San Francisco. She also attends continued education seminars throughout each year to keep up with the latest trends. A native of Connecticut, Robin lived and worked in Vermont prior to settling in the Bay area with her husband, two sons, one dog, two cats and 10 oak trees.
As of May 1, 2010, please welcome Lavender's new apprentice, Erin Altschul. Erin has completed Mat, Reformer, Barrel, and Cadillac teaching modules through Balanced Body University and has completed her required student teaching hours. She has over one year of Pilates instruction experience, and she continues her apprentice teaching while working towards full BBU certification. Erin's love of Pilates and her enthusiasm about core strength and spinal health comes through in all of her sessions. Making Pilates both a fun workout and a useful tool in day to day life is a goal in her training.
As of March 2011, please welcome Lavender's new apprentice, Sylvia Stein. She has been teaching group fitness for over 6 years, and has been involved with athletics since childhood. Pilates definitely has enhanced her active lifestyle. It allows a balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. She believes movement is the key to feeling good and for overall health. Sylvia completed her teacher training with Balanced Body University and has finished her required 100 hours of student teaching. Her repertoire includes Mat, Reformer, Trapeze/Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels.
